Techonology Advances in Health Care

There have recently been many techonological advances in health care. Robots are being built to do human jobs or to cure illnesses in hospitals.

One example of this is Key Hole Surgery. Key Hole surgery now uses a robotic hand which is capable of 13 movements, when a human is only capable of 4. This means that there is less of a need for staff in the operation room however there will be a surgeon to control the robot.

This means improved clarity and detail of tissue planes and anatomy -- critical when performing delicate dissection or in reconstructive procedures.

Another example of medical advances is an invention called an 'An advanced balance system'. This is a device which you wear to decrease the chance that you will fall and to improve your balance by up to 50%. This has been invented to prevent the high number of elderly people who suffer from a fall related injury falling.

This works by providing vibrotactile biofeedback to augment or replace impaired balance sensation and is a new approach to solving this serious problem.

About Me

I'm using this blog for my AS ICT course. I am saving all of my work to this blog as a way of keeping my notes organised. In the future I will be able to refer back to my blog for revision.
